“Joseph Haydn, Franciszek Lessel”

In March 2010, as part of the Chopin Year at the University of Warsaw, the University of Warsaw Choir presented a contemporary performance of the Polish Mass and two shorter sacral works of Franciszek Lessel. The scores were prepared as part of academic work of Katarzyna Płońska, MA, graduate of the Institute of Musicology of the University of Warsaw and at the same time choir member and instructor of the University of Warsaw Choir.

In December 2011, the Choir performed Haydn’s Missa Cellensis during a jubilee concert celebrating the choir’s 90th anniversary. Rrecording of the CD “Joseph Haydn, Franciszek Lessel” is a natural consequence of the program path of the University of Warsaw Choir. It is also close to the idea of presenting achievements of the University’s students and members of the adacemia in the field of music and musicology.
